GRIP

  1. Sand (rub) the grip zone area with #100 grit silicon sandpaper.
  2. Iron in a layer of VG30 Base Wax and cork. Or use the Base Binder Spray VGS35.
  3. Apply two layers of V40 Blue Exstra. Cork between each layer.
  4. Apply two to three layers of VR50 Violet. Cork between each layer. Those who starts later can consider applying VR55N or VR62 instead, but this must be assessed by how warm it gets at the start.

Take along: VR55N, VR62, VR70, cork and scraper. We also recommend to take along klister; K21S Universal Silver or K65 Universal Quick klister.

GLIDE recommendation after today's testing and weather prognoses for Saturday

ALTERNATIVE 1:

  1. Iron in LF7X and let the skis cool off approx. 15 min. in room temperature.
  2. Scrape off with a Swix Plexi Scraper, and brush with a Swix Bronze or Combi Brush.
  3. Finish with the Blue Nylon Polish Brush.

ALTERNATIVE 2 (RACING):

STRUCTUR:
Stone ground skis: Fine to Medium structure. Use hand structure on stone ground skis for better glide.
Swix Structure Tool: 1.0 mm and 1.5 mm right screw (T0406 or T0423).

  1. Iron in DHF104 White Marathon or HF7X. Let cool off. Iron in once more and let cool off approx. 15 min.
  2. Scrape off with a Swix Plexi Scraper, and brush with a Swix Bronze or Steel Brush.
  3. Apply Cera F FC7X with an iron temperature of approx. 160°C. Make one continuous pass with the iron with a constant pressure – take one side of the groove at the time. Let cool approx. 10 min. Brush the powder away with a Horsehair- or Wild Boar Brush.
  4. Finish with the Blue Nylon Polish Brush.

ALTERNATIVE FOR WAXLESS SKIS:

Waxless skis also require maintenance of the base. Apply Swix Easy Glide on the total length of the ski base including the grip section. A one minute job - go skiing!

SWIX has waxing service, sale and information in Geilohallen and Geilo city center Thursday and Friday.

Waxing of skis outside Geilohallen:

FRIDAY:

You can deliver skis for waxing between 10:00 and 21:00. We will be waxing skis continuously throughout the day.

Saturday we provide waxing service (grip only) on start at Finse and Haugastøl for NOK 50, and pole service. We recommend you buy a WAXING CARD (SMØREKORT) outside Geilohallen in advance.

Vi also provide wax and pole service on all three food-stations along the track.

SWIX WISH EVERYBODY A NICE TRIP!
